How to find your authentic self.

How to find your authentic self.

When was the last time you felt content with your life? Does your life lack personal interests?
Do you ponder change? The what “ifs”?
Does your mind obsess in quiet desperation as you think there must be a better way?

“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” – Steve Jobs

The Clockwork Mind

The Clockwork Mind.

How shrouded in mystery is the human mind. It’s the hard drive of our existence, the central processing unit that establishes health, wealth and happiness.
Responsible for so much, yet how many of us understand what’s inside our own cranium.
More than a regulator for our physical organic functions. It plays a center stage role in where we end up in life. Yet there are so many of us not where we want to be? Read More →

The Story of our Lives, the Life of our Story

The story of our lives, is the sum total of our existence.

Not sure if everyone, surely there are some, that experience what I call a wall in life. A wall that you will not pass with the same old bag of tricks you have applied maneuvering through your current life.
A wall that stops progress, a barrier between you the next phase. It’s an unfamiliar place. The enemy you confront is unlike any other. The obstacles are not the usual physical, tangible life’s stresses like finances or losing weight.

The power to judge and decide. This elixir has made many a person drunk with God like delusion. When we are in the seat of power, we sometimes get lost in our own strength and righteousness. We become servants of our ego. Our platforms, which once stood for something, now become a back-story to our own greatness and how we think others should act and behave.

Then there is the wrong side of cold judgment. A place we may have found ourselves twisting in fate’s cruel wind as our judgment awaits. Sometimes we are there by our own doing, sometimes happenstance deals us a bad card.
From these extremes, lies who we are in between, the Hero.

The Long Lonely Winter

The long lonely winter.

There have been stages in our lives where we may be going through some rough times. Times that make us feel as though the better days are behind us. In relation to the many Seasons that make up our lives, we are sometimes dealt with a longer season of Winter. The kind that starts way too soon, lasts way too long, or feels as though it never really goes away. A constant blight to darken Springtime’s song, an eclipse on Summer’s splendor.

Two Heroes, Two Paths

Stories have been told for generations to keep history alive, to teach lessons and to entertain.

History is littered with fact, fiction and folly as storytellers and writers from different generations have honed their crafts with their ways of drawing us in.

Our need to connect with one another and to have others bear witness to our victories and struggles have been around since mankind has had victories and struggles.

From the dawn of mankind’s beginnings when families gathered around the fire to listen to their elders enchant them with tales of bravery, history and their visions of tomorrow. To modern day times as people scramble for their fifteen minutes of fame as technology allows everyone a platform.
